Shakhrisabz offers Timurid heritage and the slower rhythm of a southern city. Walk through the historic centre, then let the drive between towns add mountain scenery.

Shakhrisabz is often squeezed between larger cities, but a quick stop hides its character. Spend time at Ak-Saray, then walk to other monuments and ordinary streets. The mountain road makes it feel like a journey of its own rather than an add-on to Samarkand. It works well for travellers who enjoy history and scenic transfers.
