Start with documents and contact details

Check your passport or other required ID, tickets, insurance, lodging address and organiser contact. For international travel, confirm entry rules for your own citizenship and route. Save essentials where you can reach them offline. A small power bank and cable can be more useful than another pair of shoes.

Pack for the actual route

A mountain walk, old city and beach day call for different clothes. Trails need shoes with grip, a wind layer and sun protection. Cities reward comfortable walking shoes and attention to dress rules at religious places. Check the forecast, including temperature changes between morning and evening.

Leave a little space

An overfilled case makes every transfer harder. Choose clothes that work together, bring personal medication and water for the road. Earplugs and an eye mask help in shared rooms. Ask the organiser for a route-specific packing list: they should tell you whether to bring swimwear, a warm jacket or special equipment.
